Frequently asked questions

Who makes up SpatialLab?

A working team of researchers, students, and collaborators who build, test, and publish the lab's work, and a board of advisors that keeps the lab connected with industry and academia. Both groups are listed on this page.

Can students join the lab?

Yes. Most of the working team are CENFOTEC undergraduate and graduate collaborators, each leading an area of the lab — XR, applied AI, infrastructure, research. Students interested in doing research or a thesis with SpatialLab can write to spatiallab@ucenfotec.ac.cr.

Does the team publish peer-reviewed research?

Yes. The lab's papers are listed on the publications page; the most recent appeared in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction (Taylor & Francis) in 2026, on modelling embodied VR interaction for emotion inference.

How do I reach a researcher at the lab?

Through spatiallab@ucenfotec.ac.cr or the contact form on the site. Each member's public profile is linked from their card on this page.
