Juguetes del Parqueo is a Web Augmented Reality (WebAR) experience created for the Children's Museum of Costa Rica. The platform transforms the physical exhibition into an interactive digital treasure hunt accessible directly through mobile browsers without requiring app downloads. By discovering virtual objects and animated characters, the initiative entertains families while strategically guiding foot traffic toward less frequented zones of the venue.

Designed by the development team at Cenfotec University for the Children's Museum of Costa Rica, Juguetes del Parqueo elevates the traditional museum tour into an interactive Web Augmented Reality (WebAR) treasure hunt. Built on cutting-edge technologies such as 8thWall, A-Frame, and JavaScript, the platform enables visitors to join instantly via mobile browsers without downloading external applications. As families explore the venue, they scan hidden physical markers to unlock 3D animated characters and digital rewards throughout the exhibition.

Beyond immersive entertainment, the project incorporates strategic interaction design focused on spatial crowd management. The experience subtly redirects visitor flow toward less frequented exhibit areas, balancing foot traffic across the museum while keeping families engaged throughout their visit. Generating over 3,100 visits and an average dwell time of five minutes per session, this project highlights how WebAR technology can enrich cultural spaces and optimize visitor experiences.
